Happy iPsy bag time! Is it sad that this is pretty much what I look forward to the most each month?
Let’s get on to the review! (I was THRILLED with my bag this month!)
The bag is adorable this month, and the quality feels awesome. This month’s theme is “Beauty Candy,” so I think the pretty pastel blue captured that idea well. It’s a plastic makeup bag, but the plastic is thick and durable. It’s also cushioned!
The first product I received was the Ayres Body Butter in Patagonia. This smells heavenly. According to the company’s website, the scent is a mixture of jasmine, rosemary, lavender, bergamot, ylang-ylang, oakmoss, patchouli, and fir. It’s a very clean, yet soothing scent, and it is not overwhelming. I’m not one for lotions or body butters, but if you enjoy them you will definitely love this. It’s very moisturizing, not too thick, and the sample size is generous. A full size (6.75 oz) will run you $28.00. This sample is worth approx. $4.15
The next product I received is the Ecru New York Acacia Protein BB Cream for hair. I was very intrigued and excited when I pulled this out of my bag. A BB Cream for hair?! Whoever heard of such a thing! This is a styling cream aimed at providing moisture and protection while still remaining light and non-greasy. I’ve only gotten around to trying this out once, but I did really like it. I applied it while my hair was damp, but if you want extra conditioning you can apply it dry. The major thing that stuck out for me was how soft and shiny my hair felt and looked. I definitely look forward to trying this bad boy out again. A full size (4.2 oz) is $30.00. This sample is worth $12.00.
These are the Skyn Iceland Glacial Cleansing Cloths with white willow bark and cucumber extract. These are your basic makeup removing wipes, but I thought it was nice of iPsy to include something beyond the usual makeup, hair care, etc. These removed my makeup efficiently without leaving any weird residue behind (does anyone else find that other brands do that? Gross). Apparently, these are also a favorite of Gossip Girl’s Leighton Meester, which is cool. A full pack of these (30 individual wipes) is $15.00. This sample (10 wipes) is thus worth $5.00.
These last two products are both pieces of makeup so I decided to group them together. The first is a City Color Cosmetics Be Matte Lipstick in Cappuccino. I’m kind of on the fence about the color, but I really like the formula. It’s matte, but not drying. The lipstick does tug on the lips a bit when you apply it, so be aware of that if it is something that concerns you. It’s opaque on the lips and lasts all day. The color is a strange combo of coral/nude/Kylie Jenner’s color of choice (brown? taupe? mauve? I can never tell). It’s not necessarily unflattering on the lips, but it’s not something I think I will reach for going into fall and winter. This is a full-sized product, which is $5.00.
My last product is easily my favorite. It’s the Skone Cosmetics Tattooed Eyeliner in Black. This is a felt-tipped liquid eyeliner that is SO easy to use. It comes out jet black, and it’s waterproof. I’ve been using it everyday since I received it. I can already tell that I’m going to repurchase it once I run out. I can never find a liquid liner that doesn’t bleed but is still simple to use (because I’m just terrible at it), so I’m very surprised that iPsy hit the nail on the head with this one! This is a full-size product at $15.00.
All in all I was very impressed this month. Shipping was also exponentially faster than usual, so I expect it to be terribly slow next month because that is one thing where iPsy lacks consistency.
Thanks for reading, and let me know if you got an iPsy bag/what your favorite product was!
Until next week (I have a special Halloween post coming!), enjoy these photos from my backyard. Don’t you love fall?
