A Boxycharm Moment – February 2015

New subscription box?! What?!

Yup. ๐Ÿ™‚

I decided to check out Boxycharm after I’ve seen some rave reviews of the boxes from some of my favorite YouTubers and Bloggers. I already subscribe to the ipsy beauty subscription box (you can check out my review for February here), but I was looking for another option to try. They’re so much fun to get in the mail – who doesn’t like a little extra Christmas every month?

Boxycharm is a monthly beauty subscription service like ipsy is. There are a few differences, however. The first difference is in the price; Boxycharm is $21 a month whereas ipsy is $10. Buuut, Boxycharm guarantees you at least four full-sized products per box plus one deluxe size, which is awesome. They usually come from higher-end brands, as well. Boxycharm is also different in that you cannot customize your box. There is no survey to take like there is with ipsy. They curate the boxes, and everyone gets the same stuff.

Shall we get into the review?

The Valentine’s-themedย box comes nicely packaged with a lovely card that tells you everything included plus retail prices. I especially appreciate that because then I don’t have to hunt down products and do (mostly incorrect) math as I have to with ipsy. The cute little paper confetti pieces are a nice touch. It reminds of Easter basket grass, which only makes me long for spring.

This nail polish was the first thing to catch my eye in the box. It is the NCLA Nail Polish in Heart Attack. This is so cute that I don’t even care that it arrived after Valentine’s Day. I’m putting this on as soon as I chip my current nail polish. It’s pink and red heart glitter in a clear base. It might be the sweetest nail polish I’ve ever seen. This would look especially adorable over white nails, I think. This is a full-size, which retails for $16.00.

It’s already been established that I love getting brushes in subscription boxes. This is the Modern Minerals Duo Fiber Mini Round Brush. There is no such thing as too many crease brushes. This one is super, super soft. It’s the perfect size to use in the outer “v” of your eye to really blend out a smokey eye. Love it, plus the “u r gorgeous” written on the brush is a nice little affirmation. ๐Ÿ™‚ This is full-size and retails for $15.00.

This next product is pretty cool because it is only available in Canada. This is the Mistura Beauty C-2-P Complexion Corrector. This is a cream-to-powder concealer. I’m always on the hunt for the perfect concealer for my skin, and I quite like the feel of this. It’s very creamy and it blends out quite well. However, the color is kind of off for me right now, as you can probably tell in the swatch picture. As far as I can tell from the website, there is only one color of this product. It’s very dark on me. Hopefully I can use it in the summertime. This is full-size, and retails for $36.99 CAN.

mullein & sparrow facial mask boxycharm february 2015 review swatch swatches beauty subscription box makeup

This is a product that I am dying to try. It’s the Mullein & Sparrow Facial Mask. Have you ever seen a more aesthetically beautiful product? Not only isย the bottle reminiscent of ย beach trips and collecting sand in jars, but the product itself is so cool! I’ve never seen a powder face mask before. This company is 100% organic. The ingredients of the mask are only four different types of clay, rose, aloe vera, and lavender oil. That’s it. To apply it, you mix it with water to form a paste. After applying it to your face, let it dry and then remove with warm water. This is a generous deluxe size, which is worth $15.00.

This last product is a beautiful lip product, which I always love. This is the Jing Ai Velvet Shine Lip Jewel in Pink A Boo. It’s a warmer, yellow-toned pink that is always a favorite of mine during spring and summer. The product itself is pretty pigmented for being a lip pencil. It swatches as nicely as it goes on the lips. The pencil is also twist-up, which means no annoying sharpening. The color is glossy and lasts fairly long on the lips. Overall I really enjoy this one! This is also full-sized and retails for $22.00.

I am thoroughly impressed by Boxycharm and will definitely be trying it another month. Did you get a Boxycharm? How did you like it?

Coming up next on my blog is a packing series for spring break. Stay tuned!

Thanks for reading and have a great day!

xoxo Rebekah
