It’s ipsy time again!
This is actually going to be my last ipsy review because I have decided to cancel my subscription, mostly because I also receive Boxycharm each month and also have Netflix. I do really love the service and would recommend it to any beauty lover!
Ipsy has really stepped up their game with their makeup bags. The ones I received the past couple of months are adorable! I am taking this one with me on vacation, as well as the one from last month.
As far as the actual products are concerned, I feel like this was a pretty good bag! Not as perfect for me as last month’s, but still worth it.
The Peter Lamas Detoxifying Citrus C Facial Cleanser is the first product I received. It is supposed to be moisturizing and is made with all-natural ingredients to soothe skin. I’ve tried this out a few times, and it’s just okay. The citrus scent is light and hardly noticeable. It removed makeup easily and leaves the skin feeling soft, but I’m a pretty die-hard fan of Philosophy’s Purity, so I don’t think I will purchase this. A full-size retails for $24.
The Bare Republic Natural Mineral Sunscreen for Face is another skincare item I received this month. I haven’t tried this yet, but it is made by Coola, which is a company I like. I’m looking forward to trying this on the beach in a week! A full-size retails for $14.99 at Target.
This is the product that I am most excited about this month! It is the Urban Decay 24/7 Lip Pencil in Ozone. The sample also came with two colors of their new lipgloss formula, which I have yet to try. But the lip pencil is great! I normally don’t gravitate toward lip pencils because I don’t normally have issues with colors bleeding. However, this product is a great staple for any makeup bag. It’s a clear pencil so you don’t have to worry about buying 100 different colors for each lipstick you own. The texture is a bit waxy, but it applies smoothly. A full-size retails for $20.
This Pixi by Petra Bronzer is another product that I am looking forward to trying out on vacation. My favorite bronzer of all time has to be a tie between NARS Laguna and NYC Sunny Bronzer, so I’m excited to see how this matches up. It’s definitely pigmented, doesn’t have a lot of shimmer, and also doesn’t turn orange. It’s also a great sample size! I can’t seem to find this on their website, but the other ones on there retail for $18. This makes me think it’s either a new product, a part of a face palette, or it’s a discontinued product. I know ipsy had issues with that in the past, but I highly doubt that’s the case now.
The final product is a Bellapiere Cosmetics Gel Liner in Ebony. It’s your basic black eyeliner, which I seem to be receiving in abundance lately in all of my beauty bags/boxes. I don’t really wear black eyeliner all that often, but this one applies smoothly and is pigmented. This is full-sized, which will run you $14.99.
Overall I have been very pleased with my experience from ipsy! I do think it takes quite a while of you reviewing products you received before they seem to tailor it to your likings and the shipping is slower than the Pony Express. But other than that, I think it’s a great service, which I expected nothing less from Michelle Phan.
Thank you for reading, as always!
