I have another Boxycharm review for you all! I accidentally missed last month’s review (oops) because I was so busy finishing up finals!
Boxycharm is a beauty subscription box that is $21 each month. It comes with at least four full-sized products and other deluxe samples. Check out more info here!
I thought this month’s box was a great assortment of products. The theme was Bold & Beautiful, and some things I received, as you will see, definitely fit the mold. PLUS everything was full-sized this month! You can’t beat that for $21.
The first two products I received were the Bodyography Essential Brow Trio and Brow Brush. I love when beauty boxes send me brow products! I swear by the Maybelline Brow Studio Pencil, but this powder is fantastic. It’s crazy pigmented (read: be careful so it doesn’t look like you have sharpie brows. One tap in the pan is all you need, ladies). I love that the trio came with shades that virtually anyone can use. I like to mix the lightest shade with the medium brown.
In addition, the brush that they sent is perfect for applying the product. It’s a stiff angled brush with a nice spooly on the end. It’s great quality and I am so happy to have it!
These both retail for $19 each! Bodyography is also cruelty-free, which is awesome.
You remember Bold & Beautiful? This is where it comes out. The Lip Bar lipstick in Purple Rain is definitely a bold choice. The good news is, I love bold lip colors. I’ve never worn a purple like this before, but I’m excited to play around with it. It has a fair amount of blue tones to it, which make your teeth look white. It’s also just as pigmented on the lips as it is in the swatch. I’m curious to see how this looks with a pink gloss over it to tone down the intensity.
The Lip Bar specializes in pretty out-there lipsticks, which is a change of pace from the typical industry colors. They’re also vegan, natural, and they got their start from Shark Tank! Pretty cool. This retails for $20.
This is the ModelCo Shimmer Bronzer! It seems like May was the month for bronzers in subscription boxes, because I also received another bronzer in my May 2015 ipsy bag! I don’t mind though, because I enjoy trying out different bronzers. This one though is pretty intense. I’m used to swirling my powder brush around my NYC Sunny Bronzer a few times before applying it. This is a one-tap product because otherwise it will turn very orange. It’s also a bit more shimmery than I prefer, but I can get over it. This retails for $24!
The last product I have to show you is the Lauren B Beauty Nail Polish in Sunset Tower. This color is the perfect peachy-nude for my skin tone, and the formula is amazing! With most nudes, you need to do a couple of coats before it is pigmented. Yeah, that’s not the case with this one. I was wearing a bright pink nail polish and applied this straight over the top. With one coat, you couldn’t even tell I had on pink before and it was completely opaque. This lasted about four days before chipping without a base or top coat, which is pretty average for a nail polish on my nails. I absolutely loved this one and will be looking into their other colors! It retails for $18.
All in all I am super happy about this box! You can’t be mad about 5 full-sized products in a $21 box. I can’t wait to see June’s!
Did you get this month’s box? What did you think?
Thanks for reading! I’m actually at the beach right now as you are reading this for my family vacation. But, I will be back next week with all new content!
