I previewed the Chanel Fall 2015 makeup collection entitled Les Automnales here a few weeks ago, and I’ve had my eye on a couple of products since.
The first one that I will be reviewing is the Rouge Coco Shine lipstick in 112 Temeraire. This is my first Rouge Coco Shine lipstick that I’ve purchased, and I’m very impressed with it so far (for $36 I better be, though).
Temeraire is probably going to be my staple fall lip color. It’s a gorgeous deep red that’s subtle enough for daytime but has just enough oomph to make you stand out. There’s gorgeous gold shimmer in it too, which is either a plus or a minus depending on how you feel about shimmery lip colors. The shimmer is apparent on the lips, but it isn’t frosty.
The Rouge Coco Shine formula is glossy and smooth, which are two qualities I love to find in any lipstick. It’s probably my favorite of all of Chanel’s lipstick formulas because it’s easy. You can glide it on without worrying about it sinking into lip lines, emphasizing dryness, or needing to use a lip liner with it. It’s one of those lipsticks that you can just apply and forget about, something that can’t be said about all red lipsticks.
I’ll definitely be looking into more of the Rouge Coco Shines, especially Boy, which seems to be a cult favorite. The only kicker about these lipsticks are the price tag. It’s difficult to justify spending that much money on a product at times, especially if the color isn’t unique. Temeraire is the first of its kind in my collection, so I thought that was alright. However, other more inexpensive options for this type of lipstick formula include MAC’s Lustre lipsticks, the Bare Minerals Lip Oil Balms, or the NARS Velvet Gloss Pencils.
Coming up within the next month will be reviews for some other products in the collection, as well. Keep your eyes peeled!
