Today I bring you perhaps the most epic Sephora haul to ever happen. Last week was the 20% off event for VIB Rouge members, and this coming week is when the same discount goes live for regular VIB members.
To say I went a little crazy is an understatement.
But, in an effort to justify my actions, I saved up quite a bit of money from paychecks and my birthday, and this is the first time I have made a large makeup purchase in a while. I also used this sale as an excuse to get a head start on Christmas shopping. Sephora has some amazing gift sets that are perfect for any beauty lover in your life.
I stocked up on some necessities that I was desperately in need of and I picked up some products that have been on my wishlist for a looong time.
Are you ready to get into the glorious madness? Let’s go!
The first product to go into my cart was the NARS Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base. This is a magical product for anyone with oily eyelids. This is the only eyeshadow primer that keeps everything smooth and prevents creases for the whole day. I’ve applied this at 8 a.m. and gotten home past midnight; my makeup still looks perfect. It’s a little pricey at $25, but it’s completely worth it. I tried to sneak by with an Urban Decay primer potion because it was less expensive, but it never worked. I totally recommend taking the plunge with this product. I didn’t bother taking a picture though because it’s boring; you can see it’s the white and black tube in the picture above.
Sephora recently started carrying Burberry products online, and I couldn’t resist snagging the Burberry Eye Colour Cream in Festive Gold. The packaging is absolutely stunning; I love the gold lid for Christmas. It is from their holiday collection, and I think this would make a lovely gift. The color itself is a shimmery, light gold. I purchased this for a couple of reasons. I wear cream eyeshadows everyday as a base for my powder shadows because it helps the colors to be more vibrant (and gives them longevity). I think this would be a nice shade under similar eyeshadows or even by itself for a light wash of color across the lid. I can’t wait to use this for the coming holiday season!
The Sephora Collection Mud Mask Purifying & Mattifying just might be the product I am most excited to try out. This was a last-minute addition to my cart after I watched a video raving about how it was better than the GlamGlow masks. If that’s true, then it’s the steal of the century. A GlamGlow mask will run you $69, whereas this one is only $19.
I also splurged a bit on the Marc Jacob’s Enamored Hi-Shine Nail Polish in Gatsby. It’s a metallic, milky pink which I think will be the best winter nail color. This has been on my list forever because not only is the color gorgeous, but The Great Gatsby is one of my all-time favorite books. I love anything and everything to do with 1920s culture, so this was a no-brainer.
Fun Fact: Every single perfume I own has been given to me as a gift by my sister. She’s definitely a perfume addict and thus loves giving them any chance she gets. I never complain because perfumes tend to be a pretty penny, but I finally caved and grabbed the Tom Ford Velvet Orchid Eau de Parfum. This is the 1 oz. bottle. I’ve had a million samples of this in the past and it’s just. so. good. I find it difficult to locate scents that smell as good in the bottle as they do on me. This one is amazing. It’s expensive, but since I’ve never actually bought a perfume before, I figured it would be okay. 😉
This is the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in Opal. There’s SO MUCH HYPE around these highlighters that I just had to pick one up. Opal is the most perfect golden/champagne hybrid I’ve ever seen. I think this color will be great for wintertime. I love highlighters in general, so I’m excited to try this one out! It’s definitely a more in-your-face highlighter with the shimmer factor, so be wary if that’s something you don’t typically like. You also have to be fairly gentle with these because they shatter pretty easily. Probably not the best highlighter to travel with.
Next I was bad and picked up two blushes. I wanted to amp up my collection for fall and winter. I have plenty of coral/peachy/pink blushes for summer and spring, but my only colors for this time of year are plums and deeper berries. So, I added the NARS blush in Outlaw. It’s a rose/brick color with gold shimmer throughout the pan. I love blushes with gold shimmer in them; they are my weaknesses. This blush is pretty pigmented, but you can easily achieve a subtle rose-y glow by using a light hand.
The other one is a Bobbi Brown blush in Pale Pink. This is my first Bobbie Brown product that I’ve ever purchased, but I have a really good reason for grabbing this one: It’s the blush that Kate Middleton used on her wedding day. If you’ve been reading my blog in any capacity, you probably know that I love Kate Middleton. I think she is not only so fabulous, but she’s an incredible role model for girls. The blush itself is a bright, matte pink which will be beautifullll for winter time. Just a tap of it on the cheeks will create that fresh in from the snow look.
Swatched left to right: Opal, Outlaw, Pale Pink.
And next, I gave into my greatest weakness and bought six lip products.
I bought two of the NARS Audacious Lipsticks in Audrey and Brigitte. This lipstick formula is also raved about on YouTube and blogs. Audrey, which has been on my list since the day they launched, is a lovely muted red color and Brigitte, a last-minute impulse buy, is a coral/nude. It’s not as if I needed more red or nude lipsticks, but I am excited to try them anyways. Yay!
I also grabbed two of the Burberry Kisses Lip Gloss in Antique Rose and Oxblood. I needed a new neutral rose gloss and I’ve been wanting to try a more vampy gloss for fall. Sometimes I feel too out-there if I try to wear a full lipstick in a deep plum or red, so I think gloss is more appropriate for daytime in that regard. It’s sheer, but still gives off pigment on the lips.
The next lip product I picked up was the Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment in Cherry. These lip stick/balm hybrids are LIFE SAVERS in the winter time. When your lips get super dry and cracked, it’s difficult to find a lip color that doesn’t accentuate dry skin while hydrating them. These are the best option for that. I have three other colors (Rose, Petal, and Tulip), and I’m excited to add this sheer red to the collection.
And last but not least for this mega haul is the Laura Mercier Creme Smooth Lip Colour in Spiced Rose. This is another beautiful rose-y nude that will be perfect for winter time. This formula has been on my wishlist for a while, and one of my favorite YouTubers just bought it. So that pretty much convinced me. The packaging is also beautiful! I only own a couple of other Laura Mercier items, but I definitely love the ones I have.

That concludes my post for today and my spending on makeup for the next millennium. I hope you enjoyed seeing everything I picked up and be sure to let me know if you grabbed anything yourself during the sale!
