A Beauty Review Moment – Tartelette in Bloom Palette

DSC_1018

Happy Wednesday everyone! Today I am reviewing the Tartelette in Bloom palette, Tarte’s new spinoff of their original Tartelette palette for Spring 2016!

I headed into Sephora with a few gift cards looking for something to try when I spotted the Tartelette in Bloom palette. Compared to the original, this one is much more warm-toned, which I definitely prefer for my skintone. The original Tartelette is also entirely matte; Tartelette in Bloom has three gorgeous shimmer shades that complement the matte shadows really nicely.

I was so excited to play with this when I got home, BUT when I opened up my palette, I discovered that someone had already swatched it. Sephora has awesome customer service and let me exchange it without blinking and eye, but testers are there for a reason people. Don’t swatch the actual product.

How stunning is the palette itself, too? I love keeping it on my makeup table for display. It’s a lacquered top with a beautiful purple and pink petal print. Tartelette in Bloom is written inΒ gold metallic lettering. It has a hinge on it, as well, with a giant mirror, so this one will be nice to stand up on a dresser when traveling. The palette also comes with a card that contains some different looks you can do with the colors.

Tartelette in Bloom has 12 butter shadows that aren’t chalky or gritty. They’re very pigmented and wear extremely well. I typically pair them with a primer and base because I need the extra oomph for wear time, but I think these would perform well for people without oily eyelids.

Charmer is a matte cream color that works well as a highlight.

Flower ChildΒ is a light matte neutral brown that’s perfect for blending and transitioning between shades.

Funny Girl is a shimmering pink champagne. This was the only shade I had a little trouble swatching because it isn’t as pigmented as other shadows in the palette.

Jetsetter is a bit cooler toned compared to the rest of the browns. It’s a medium brown, and it is also matte.

Smarty Pants is a warm matte medium brown.

Sweetheart is a matte light mauve pink.

Rocker is a shimmering taupe. While this palette overall is warm-toned, there are a couple of cooler shades; this is one of them. It swatches like a dream!

Firecracker is a beautiful shimmering copper. It’s definitely my favorite shade in the palette.

Rebel is an interesting matte shade. It’s got a lot of red and berry in it, but I’d say it’s still too brown to be considered a cranberry. This would be a beautiful fall shade.

Smokeshow is a dark matte smoky brown that actually almost looks black.

Activist is another deep matte brown, but this one pulls much warmer than Smokeshow.

Leader reminds me of Rebel, but darker and a bit cooler. It tries to be cranberry but still has a decent amount of brown in it.

All in all, I love this palette! It’s going to be a beautiful everyday neutral option.

Have you tried this palette? Let me know what you think!

xoxo Rebekah
