A Life Update Moment – My Month in New York City

Processed with VSCO with c1 preset

Hi everyone!

In case you didn’t know, I spent the last month living in New York City for an internship, and I can’t BELIEVE how quickly the time has gone by. It seems like yesterday that I was standing in my dorm/makeshift apartment wondering how the heck I was going to live by myself in a brand new city for a month.

But I did it! And I loved every second of it. New York is kind of like Pittsburgh, only bigger. And weirder. And more expensive. And MUCH busier. I’ll be happy to get home (after a quick stop in DC for the upcoming holiday), but I will miss New York – especially the shopping. I guess my wallet will be happy though ;).

Here are some photographs from the past month that I thought I’d share with you (the first of which is me, living out my dream of becoming Blair Waldorf). If you have the chance to check out New York City, do it. It will be an adventure, that’s for sure.

I actually hated Times Square and probably wouldn’t go back unless forced. Gross.

Central Park, on the other hand, I loved.

This was an obvious photo op. #LetsGoPens

…And this was an obvious purchase. (I managed to make it back here three times despite the 20 minute train ride both ways. Oops.)

Central Park is just perfection.

I’m a little biased when it comes to my favorite baseball stadium, but Yankee Stadium is definitely pretty. And the weather was GORGEOUS when I went, too.

I was so lucky to work in Lower Manhattan this month. I loved walking around the Memorial Pools on my lunch break each day.

Obviously had to check out my future place of employment. 😉

I loved Coney Island! I missed my annual beach vacation to do the internship, so I was craving some surf and sand.

And THIS was my favorite event of my trip. A mermaid blog and a mermaid parade – was there ever a better match?

And with sandy toes, I boarded the subway and headed back to the city of steel and lights.

Thanks for reading!
