An OOTD Moment – Lilly Pulitzer Scalloped Skort

Hi everyone!

The weekend before I left for New York, I placed an order with Lilly Pulitzer to take advantage of their Splash into Summer promotion. However, the package didn’t arrive by the time I left, and I had to wait five painfully slow weeks before I could tear into that pink and white tissue paper.

Tragic, I know, but I survived!

One of my FAVORITE pieces that I ordered I just had to share with you today while it’s still available. The Colette Scalloped Hem Skort is quickly going to become a staple piece in my wardrobe.

I love Lilly Pulitzer skorts because they look like a skirt but have shorts underneath. Most skorts – especially those I wore as a child – were just shorts with a flap of fabric across the front. This style that Lilly does is so much more flattering and so much cuter. They’re also fantastic options if you’re tall like me; you don’t have to worry about how short the skirt is because you’ve got shorts to cover you up. I ALWAYS have this problem, so it’s nice to not have to worry with these.

The pattern I chose is called “Out to Sea,” and it’s got beautiful watercolor sailboats all over it. The material is thicker than I thought it would be, which is nice, and you can definitely tell it’s well-made. And obviously the best part of the skirt is the scalloped hem. I’m a sucker for anything scalloped, so it was really a no-brainer.

Not to mention these adorable tassel bracelets that came free with the promotion. I can’t wait to wear this outfit during the rest of summer! This would be so cute for the beach or a day by the lake/river, and I’m even going to take it to Disney World with me next month.
