A Beauty Moment – Soap & Glory ‘One Heck of a Blot’ and ‘Peach Party’

Hi everyone!

Product Details: Peach Party / One Heck of a Blot

I went into Ulta the other day because I hadn’t been since before I left for New York (not like I needed actually needed anything, though, haha). As I was browsing the drugstore section – pining for some of the Revlon matte liquid lipsticks – I found a super exciting discovery!

Ulta now carries Soap & Glory!! I’m probably waaay behind on this, but still! Sephora used to carry the UK brand, but they got rid of it a few years ago. I was so sad because I love their products. But now it’s back, and Ulta actually has a larger variety of both bath/body products and makeup. I was very impressed.

I decided to pick up two face products: One Heck of a Blot Translucent Powder and Peach Party Blush Brick.

I have skin that’s a bit too oily for my liking, so trying out mattifying powders has become somewhat of a hobby this summer (I swear by this one, if you are interested, which I discovered on reddit of all places).

First of all, the packaging of One Heck of a Blot is adorable. I love the vintage feel, and the name is hilarious. The powder itself says it is translucent, but it definitely swatches a tad yellow/white. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing. I’ve noticed it’s incredibly brightening – especially under the eyes. If you use it for the entire face, though, just make sure to pick a large, fluffy powder brush and to really blend it out so you don’t look a bit ghost-ish. Other than that, the powder is fine and feels like straight-up velvet on the skin. I’m definitely impressed with the texture for the price (only $16!). There’s 9 grams in each compact (that also comes with a mirror), which is a pretty hefty amount.

I was intrigued by Peach Party – which I’ve never heard of before – because it reminded me of the much more expensive Bobbi Brown Shimmer Bricks, especially the one in Nectar. This one is only $15, though, compared to $46. Like the Shimmer Bricks, this is a shimmery product, but it isn’t a glitter explosion. Surprisingly, the powder feels just as soft and luxurious as the translucent powder, despite the shimmers. The pan is a mixture of copper, pink, and peach shades that are honestly large enough to fit a brush into each if you really wanted to isolate a specific color. When blended together, it is the most gorgeous light peachy-pink shade. This would be so beautiful on any skin tone, I think, as a blush, eyeshadow, or highlighter. I wanted a glow-y look the other day and used it as a blush, and it looks wonderful with bronzed skin and an otherwise matte face. The options are endless! This comes with 7.5 grams of product, which is a TON for a blush. You will not be running out of this any time soon, guaranteed.

The best part is that you can use those $3.50 off of $15 coupons on Soap & Glory, too, because Ulta considers it drugstore makeup! Score.

Have you tried Soap & Glory? Let me know what you think!

Thanks for reading!

xoxo Rebekah
