As probably evident by this post, I went down kind of a Vogue spiral in July. There were so many amazing articles and videos about shopping vintage, and I wanted to give it a try myself.
When I was in DC, my family spent some time shopping in Georgetown. We were just wandering along when I spotted Buffalo Exchange from the corner of my eye. Just the place I needed, I thought.
If you aren’t familiar with Buffalo Exchange, it’s basically a thrift/consignment store geared toward young people. We spent about an hour sifting through racks, and I was pleasantly surprised when I found this ASOS dress – brand new with tags – on sale for only $8.
Um, yes please.
It’s floral print, super flowy, and has the most adorable daisy chain detail along the straps. It’s so delicate and looks great with a lacy bralette. Aerie makes the best bralettes out there, I swear, you guys. I paired the dress with some heels to give it a little height for counterbalancing the flowy-ness.
I also snagged a pretty lilac J. Crew cotton dress for $10 that I think will transition well into fall with some tights and boots. I walked out of the location in Georgetown wishing I had one closer to me. Turns out, I do! lol. I’m oblivious sometimes, I guess.
Where’s your favorite place to thrift shop?
