A Beauty Review Moment – Dior’s Diorskin Nude Air Luminizer Powder

Hi everyone!

What do you do when you have a Sephora gift card laying around for a rainy day? You #TreatYoSelf.

I wondered into the land of all things makeup and beauty last week and stumbled across this incredible highlighter by Dior. I shattered my Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector forever ago, and after promising myself for months that I’d try to reconstruct it using alcohol, I finally knocked it over again and demolished it completely. I’d been needing a new highlighter ever since, and this one called my name as soon as I saw it.

Now, it’s Dior so it’s pretty expensive. The Diorskin Nude Air Luminizer Powder will run you $56, so it’s a great option if you do have some gift cards hanging around from the holidays or are looking for a really special treat for yourself. I tend to gravitate toward more luxury beauty products in general because I just use them more on an everyday basis. So this kind of an investment into a product makes sense for me.

This highlighter has almost 6 grams of product, which is less than the Skin Perfectors. But honestly, I’ve never gone through a highlighter and probably never will. The Dior product, however, comes in an absolutely STUNNING compact. It’s gorgeous. I feel like a starlet when I pull this out of my purse to touch up. It’s got a large mirror on the inside, and it has a magnetic closure. It’s fairly weighted and feels as expensive as it costs. I just can’t get over the classic Dior quilting on the top of the compact. It’s so timeless. (PS: How beautiful are those flowers?? I love them.)

It also comes with one of those little velvet pouches to store it in (mostly useless) and a mini kabuki brush. The brush is super soft and perfect for traveling, though I prefer to use a fan brush to apply highlighter. It’s is a little wide for using on the cheekbones, but I can definitely see myself packing this to use with regular setting powder on vacation. It’s a nice little bonus to receive for the price.

The Diorskin Nude Air Luminizer itself is as beautiful as its packaging. It’s a golden-champagne that’s high on the shimmers, so be aware of that before you buy. It’s not glittery or sparkly, though, and it won’t leave you looking like a disco ball. The gorgeous “NUDE” embossment on the powder doesn’t go away after a few swipes, which I happen to love. I hate when products have special touches that disappear as soon as you use it. This catches the light like nothing else on the cheekbones without being too dramatic, so I think this works well for both day and night. It blends like a dream, too, as you’d hope for in something that’s painfully expensive.

As truly beautiful as the Dior highlighter is, the color (that golden-champagne) is fairly run-of-the mill, so if you’re looking for a more affordable option, they’re definitely out there. But I love shelling out a little more on a really special product that I know I will use all the time, and for me, this highlighter was worth it.

What’s your favorite highlighter?

Thanks for reading!

xoxo Rebekah
